My interest in airline labor management began when my mother, Adelaide showed me a news photo of her on the picket line pushing me in a stroller outside the LAX Terminal 4, home to Trans World Airlines, my mom’s domicile. She and her ALSSA union cohorts were expressing grievances over paltry pay and unfair working conditions. Since then I’ve been awed by the activist history of these incredible workers, which includes getting “sex” and “age” on the ERA Bill. I am currently developing a documentary following the historic campaign to elect the first female into the position of the president of the AFL-CIO.
